About David
David Baillie began his career in film and TV through working as a Director/DoP in his own production company which won numerous awards in both current affairs and drama production. In more recent years David works just as a DoP across documentaries, dramas and commercials. However his previous experience directing actors means he often works a 2nd DoP on dramas where there is more need to interpret the script and action. As well as location and studio lighting David also specialises as an aerial DoP on both helicopters and drones, as well as providing stabilised rig shooting on boats and vehicles. His work in this field has won him both Bafta and Emmy awards, which accompany many other awards for documentary and drama production. David has his own Alexa and lenses but is conversant with most digital cinematography formats. He holds current visas for the USA, China and Russia as well as various First Aid and specialised marine and air safety qualifications. He has worked in over 90 countries and all climatic zones and looks forward to apply his experience and creativity to any assignment wherever it may be.
